Trading the S&P500 as a index

Since we’re are only allowed to trade within the s&p500 stocks, are we able to treat the whole sp500 as an index and trade that index?


Would that be a strategy that will take marks off for us because we’re afraid we might be seen as taking a ‘shortcut’ in the diversification part of the criteria.

Hello - No you are not allowed to trade the index for this competition, we have had other competition where you were allowed to do so. This competition is a ‘stock picking’ competition and you have basically to pick the best 50 stocks out of 500.
