Rebalancing portfolio

When we rebalance our portfolio, do we have to hold 100% stocks at all time. Eg, we sell a stock and have to buy another one before the market closes?


Or we can sit in cash until our algo gives us the right opportunity to reenter the marekt?

Cash investment is not allowed for the UBS S&P Competition. You have to be invested in 50 different stocks all the time.
