How we pick the 50 stocks in first round (the beat sp500 one)? All equal weighted equities?

Do we perform the selection inside the notebook or can we select the equities by our criteria and then hard code the list of equities into the notebook is also fine?


And btw, is the weights of all equities are same? (If so, then why should we bother with giving different weights to different equities in the tutorial?)
