Corn (ZC) rebounded a massive more than 3.5% Friday, completing a 2nd straight weekly Hammer. Significantly, odds favour a bit of healthy profittaking in today’s shortened US holiday trading session, as part of an ongoing major bottoming effort that was hinted with the break above descending wedge resistance (on the weekly chart) in December. Before bulls get excited, they’ll want to see a higher monthly high versus the December high, likely coinciding with the psychologically key 400 whole figure level. The weekly, daily and 4hr RSI, Stochastics and MACD are bottomish, rallying or consolidating recent gains. I am looking to go long in the green zone (of the daily chart), and am targeting the red zone for late week. The amber/yellow zone is where I might place a stop if I was a swing trader (although in my personal account with which I seldom hold overnight I sometimes set my stops tighter).
